BRIGHAM CITY — Several people were taken to a local hospital after a car crash Sunday in Box Elder County.

Just before 4:30 p.m, a 2003 Ford Expedition traveling northbound on I-15 near mile marker 363 crashed, according to Jesse Valenzuela, Public Affairs Officer for the Utah Highway Patrol.

The Expedition was in the fast lane when its rear passenger tire separated and blew out, Valenzuela said. The vehicle veered to the left, and went off the roadway and into the median sideways.

The Expedition hit the cable median, preventing the vehicle from continuing across the median into southbound traffic, Valenzuela said.

“Several patients were taken to the local hospital for treatment and released,” Valenzuela said. Brigham City Community Hospital did request Life Flight to transfer a patient to Primary Children’s Hospital.

None of the individuals involved were identified. It is unknown how many people were in the vehicle at this time.

Traffic was redirected through Brigham City while crews were at the scene.
