ST. GEORGE — The Blue Angels performed at Dixie State University on Friday, flying high over St. George.
The free event entertained the crowd, especially 14-year-old Kaden Swartz.
“One of my bucket lists is to see the Blue Angels,” Swartz said.
The Blue Angels team is made up of 16 volunteer officers. They aim to instill community pride for the U.S. Navy by showcasing their technical skills and flight capabilities.
For Fred Lewis, it's a pride he knows first-hand. Lewis is a veteran of the Air National Guard and said plane shows mean a lot to him.
“They are extremely fun to watch and see,” Lewis said. “Like I say, every time I hear a roar, when they’re out practicing or whatever, I run out to see if I can get a glimpse of them because it’s just such an emotional high for me.”
The show runs from July 25 to July 27. Tickets and more information can be found at Thunder Over Utah.
