SALT LAKE CITY — A man was arrested after breaking out six windows at a Zions Bank and vandalizing a parked vehicle, police said.

Officers received several calls from people reporting a vandalism around 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Zions Bank at 304 S. Main St., according to Salt Lake City Police Detective Dennis McGowan.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered Zachary Delahay, 25, had broken six windows by throwing rocks, McGowan said. Delahay had also allegedly damaged a vehicle parked in the Zions Bank parking lot.

Delahay told police he had weapons and he threatened several officers when they approached him, police said. McGowan said Delahay was combative and pulled away from officers when they tried to handcuff him, and he continued to tell officers to shoot him.

“Even after he was handcuffed, he continued kicking and actually tried to hurt himself inside the police car,” McGowan said.

Delahay was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of criminal mischief, resisting arrest and failure to provide identification.
