PROVO — Crews rescued a hiker stranded near Squaw Peak Road in Provo Canyon.
The hiker called 911 Thursday night when he realized he was stuck above the Rock Canyon Campground, according to Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office.
Cannon said hiking in to rescue him was too difficult, so crews waited for daylight to locate him by helicopter. They reached the man Friday morning.
The hiker ran out of food and water Thursday evening. He was not injured.
