BLUFFDALE — All lanes on I-15 in Bluffdale are back open after the Utah Department of Transportation was forced to close the left two lanes when the road buckled on Saturday evening.
Hot temperatures caused the concrete to buckle in the southbound lanes of I- 15 at 14600 South, according to UDOT.
UDOT said they have had trouble this same spot in the past because it is an older area of I-15 from the 1960s. Most of I-15 has newer surfaces, having been installed within the past 10 to 15 years, according to UDOT. UDOT had this same issue in the same area last year as well.
The two lanes were closed until midnight while crews made the necessary repairs to the roadway.
