EL PASO, TX- The Salt Lake Bees opened up their first ever series in El Paso by defeating the Chihuahuas 4-2 on Friday night. Anthony Lerew (2-4) earned the win, as he went five innings and allowed just one run on four hits with a season high six strikeouts. Dustin Richardson allowed one unearned run in one and two-third innings, Fernando Nieve tossed one and one-third scoreless innings and Yoslan Herrera kept El Paso off of the board in the ninth for his fifth save of the season.


Anthony Lerew (2-4) earned the win, as he went five innings and allowed just one run on four hits with a season high six strikeouts.

The Bees took a 1-0 lead in the first on Grant Green's fourth home run of the season. After El Paso tied the game in the third, Salt Lake regained the lead in the fourth. With one out, Luis Martinez singled and then scored all of the way from first on a triple off of the right field fence by Taylor Lindsey, who would come home on a single to center by Tony Campana. The Bees would add one more in the fifth when Efren Navarro reached on an infield single and advanced to third on a single to center by Brennan Boesch. Navarro would score when Luis Jimenez ground into a double play. Campana and Lindsey led the Bees, as each had two hits and one run batted in, while Boesch and Shawn O'Malley each added two hits.
