HARRISVILLE — A Harrisville woman has turned to Facebook to locate the owner of a ring she found while camping.

Ashlee Urry said she went camping with her family June 27 at Memorial Park near the Causey Dam in Weber Canyon. She said her family camped at campsite No. 38 and her daughter was playing in the undergrowth near the site when she found a ring.

“They call (the foliage) ‘elephant ear leaves’ and they were playing in those, and she found it on the ground in the undergrowth,” Urry said.

The ring is a single gold band with an inscription inside, part of which has the names, "Susan and Tat.” Urry said she hasn’t been able to determine the size of the ring and doesn’t know if it’s a man's or a woman’s ring.

Urry said when her family returned home from the camping trip, she took pictures of the ring and posted it on her Facebook page in the hopes of finding the owner. In 10 days, the post was shared over 533,000 times on social media.

Urry said she did have a few promising leads with some people referring her to a woman named Susan in Colorado, but Urry said when she contacted the woman, she was not the owner of the ring. The Weber County officials working at the Memorial Park camp post told Urry they had not received any calls from people reporting a lost ring.

If anyone has information about the owner of the ring, please contact Urry at krash22us@yahoo.com.
