PHILIPPINES — Just a day before he died from liver cancer, a Filipino man married his sweetheart and mother of his daughter.
Rowden Go’s 30th birthday — July 8, 2014 — was supposed to be the day he married Leizl. After a stage 4 liver cancer diagnosis in late May, however, plans changed. His brother, Hasset Go, said Rowden’s last request was to be married.
“Together with their adorable 2-year-old daughter, they already had a perfect family,” he wrote.
With just 12 hours to prepare for the June 11 wedding and a groom who was unable to leave even his hospital bed, the family put together a wedding in the hospital.
“Unable to take him outside the hospital, we brought the church to him. It was like a heartbreaking fairytale,” Hasset Go wrote.
Rowden passed away just 10 hours later.
