LOGAN — A man was tased and arrested Wednesday after leading police on a car chase and causing an accident.

Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Logan police officers located a man they suspected of evading and retail theft, according to the Logan Police Department. The officers saw the man driving a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo near 400 West and 200 North in Logan.

Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the man, later identified as Luis Margarito Bravo-Ceja, continued driving north on 400 West at around 25 mph. Bravo-Ceja obeyed the stop signs and traffic laws until he reached 1400 North and 400 West and then he accelerated quickly. Police officers pursued him until that point and then terminated the chase.

Bravo-Ceja was later involved in a traffic accident near 1400 North and 400 East, and was seen leaving the scene of the accident on foot.

Officers found Bravo-Ceja in a vehicle parked behind the Cache County Administration building Wednesday afternoon. When officer approached him, he attempted to flee on foot. Officers deployed a tase and arrested Bravo-Ceja on suspicion of retail theft, felony evading, leaving the scene of an accident, interference with an arrest and aggravated re-entry.

Bravo-Ceja had previously been arrested in August 2013.
