PROVO — Several more women have reported they were groped by a man near the BYU campus, and police are asking for the public’s help to find him. He is accused of sexually assaulting 14 women so far this year.
The man is striking in broad daylight and in some cases, extremely public areas on campus. The assaults have spanned areas from a women's apartment at Wyview, to the North Campus Drive overpass, to Wymount Terrace.
Four additional incidents were reported in the past 24 hours but happened weeks ago.
- Heritage Halls, January, 10:55 a.m.
- North Campus Drive, west pedestrian overpass, Feb. 20, 10:15 p.m.
- Wymount Terrace, March 11, 7:30 a.m.
- 900 East and Campus Drive, incomplete report
Police said based on the reports, the incidents are the same in that the man, acting like a jogger, ran by women and then grabbed them inappropriately.
The women describe the man as Caucasian, under 6 feet tall, and wearing a jacket with either the hood tied around the face or a baseball cap.
Lt. Arnold Lemmon says the total number of reports is up to 15 Friday morning and he asked people around campus to be on alert.
Earlier in the week, detectives were working to determine whether the same man is responsible for each incident.
