PAROWAN, Iron County — Two adults and three children were involved in a rollover accident, but no one received major injuries, police say.
On Friday at about 4:40 p.m., a Ford Expedition was going south in the left lane of 1-15 near mile marker 80 when the left rear tire blew out, the Utah Highway Patrol reported in a written statement.
The 36-year-old male driver lost control of the vehicle which crossed the road and rolled off the right side. The vehicle came to rest on the westbound frontage road, UHP said.
The driver’s wife was pinned in the vehicle and had to be freed by the fire department. She “sustained some moderate injuries,” according to UHP.
The driver, his wife and the three children were transported via ambulance to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City.
The three children — ages 13, 10 and 4 — were treated and released from Valley View Medical Central Center with only minor injuries.
The driver was not injured.
All in the vehicle were wearing seat belts.
