With the BYU Cougars off until their home game with Utah on Sept. 21, here, in no particular order, are a few football facts to tide you over during the bye week.
Those who follow me on Twitter (@gregwrubell) have seen some or most of these posted on my feed in recent days.

1. FBS teams that ran 88+ plays in week one were 3-7 (1-1 v. FCS).
2. FBS teams than ran 88+ plays in week two were 6-0 (3-0 v. FCS).
3. BYU is second in the FBS in total plays, through two games (192). Cal (1-1) leads with 194 plays.
4. Among teams which have played two games, BYU leads the FBS in rush attempts/game (62.5). Navy (one game played) ran 70 times in its opener.
5. BYU has set 2013's single-game FBS highs in rushes (72), rushing yards (550) and plays (99)--all set in the Texas win.
6. BYU is 9-for-9 in red zone scoring; only six other 100% teams have had more red zone drives.
7. With only four TDs in nine red zone appearances, BYU is 99th nationally in FBS red zone TD%.
8. BYU is 5-for-5 on FGA (all Justin Sorensen). Only one team (North Carolina State, 7-for-7) has more FGA without a miss, through two games.
9. BYU leads the FBS in total 3rd down attempts (44); 71st in 3rd down conversion (38.6%).
10. BYU has 17 third down conversions. Taysom Hill has 8 of them (47%).
11. Last season, Cody Hoffman led BYU with 32% of BYU's 3rd-down conversions.
12. 23% of BYU's plays in 2013 have been 3rd down plays. Last year, the number was 21%. In Robert Anae's best offensive year ('06), it was 19%.
13. BYU was 3-for-14 on on 3rd-and-4 or longer against Texas: all conversions were Taysom Hill runs. 0-for-8 passing, 0-for-3 rushing w/ others.
14. BYU has converted 5 of 24 passing 3rd downs (21%; down from 46% in 2012). BYU has converted 12 of 20 rushing 3rd downs (60%; up from 45% last year).
15. BYU is 4-for-4 in conversions when running on 3rd-and-9-plus; all Taysom Hill runs.
16. BYU is 0-for-10 converting 3rd-and-9-plus thru the air.
17. BYU has converted 9 of 12 (75%) on 3rd-and-3 or shorter.
18. BYU has allowed the opponents to convert only 5 of 11 (45%) on 3rd-and-3 or shorter.
19. Bronco era, converting 3rd-and-3 or shorter: 75% in 2013 (2 games), 64% in 2012, 74% in 2011, 71% in 2010, 79% in 2009, 81% in 2008, 68% in 2007, 75% in 2006, 67% in 2005.
20. Through two games, BYU has had only two 3rd-and-1's in 44 3rd down attempts (4.5%).
21. Bronco-era average, pre-2013: 3rd-and-1 on 12.1% of all 3rd-downs.
22. BYU leads the FBS in rushing 1st downs (35; tied with Oregon, Baylor) and is 13th in total 1st downs (54).
23. BYU is 87th in passing 1st downs (15).
24. BYU's win over Texas snapped a six-game losing streak with a negative turnover margin (-2 v. Texas).
25. Taysom Hill set a new BYU single-game rush average record (min. 10 att) with his 15.2 ypc v. Texas (old record: 14.2, Luke Staley)
26. In the first eight seasons of the Bronco era, BYU attempted as many as 21 3rd downs in a game only twice (in 103 gms). In the first two games of 2013, BYU has attempted 3rd downs 23 and 21 times.
27. BYU has 15 penalties through two games: eight against the offense, four on special teams, and three against the defense.
28. Penalty breakdown--Offense: 6 false start, 1 illegal formation, 1 illegal procedure; Defense: 1 pass interference, 1 personal foul, 1 holding; Special Teams: 2 holding, 1 illegal block, 1 illegal formation.
29. With its win over Texas, BYU is now 59-8 in the Bronco era when holding the edge in avg starting field position. BYU was +1 ASFP v. Texas.
30. BYU's 679 yards of offense against Texas represent the school's most ever against a team competing in a BCS/power conference (pre/post BCS).
31. In the Bronco era, Texas game was BYU's 5th with 600+ yards of offense.
32. 679 yds v. UT ranks 3rd behind Tulsa '07 (694) and AFA '05 (683), in the Bronco era.
33. Other Bronco-era games with 600+ yards of offense: New Mexico '06 (653) and UNLV '09 (611). All five 600+ games were with Robert Anae as OC.
34. BYU is now 5-1 v. Texas and Oklahoma.
35. Last time BYU played Texas (2011), BYU ran for 43 yds. Against Texas, BYU surpassed that total on its 7th play (of Bronco-era record 99 plays).
36. Before Saturday night, BYU last defeated a ranked non-conference team at home 15 years ago (Sept. 12, 1998; W 26-6 v. No. 14/15 Arizona State).
37. BYU players are 2nd (Jamaal Williams; 163.0) and 7th (Taysom Hill; 153.5) in FBS rush yards per game.
38. BYU is third nationally in FBS total rush yards through two games (against two BCS-conference teams, by the way). Top two teams (Oregon, Wisconsin) each played one FCS squad.
39. Bronco era: BYU is now 61-8 when leading at halftime; 64-4 when leading after three quarters.
41. Bronco era: BYU is now 29-2 when rushing for 200+ yards.
42. Bronco era: BYU is 9-1 when playing after a regular-season bye.
43. BYU has won two of its last three home games v. Utah.
44. From 1993 through 2012, 15 of 20 BYU/Utah games have been decided by seven points or fewer.
