MISSION VIEJO, Calif. — While the football team may have lost this past weekend to UCLA, the Utah coaching staff was able to witness an incredible comeback highlighted by future Ute Conner Manning.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound quarterback lead the El Toro Chargers to a 41-31 come-from-behind win over nationally ranked Tesoro last Friday. And with the Utes just 70 miles north in Pasadena preparing to face the Bruins, head coach Kyle Whittingham and receivers coach Aaron Roderick were able to witness Manning throwing for 281 yards and four touchdowns.

While the quarterback's numbers were great, it may have been a catch that happened right in front of his future coaches that impressed them the most. Trailing 31-27, Manning handed the ball off to teammate Jacob Furnari, who ran to the right before throwing into the end zone to a wide open Manning, his first ever receiving touchdown.

We caught up with Conner Manning and his head coach, Robert Frith, after the win. Manning is excited to be a Ute and plans to join the team next summer after he graduates.

You can check out the interviews, as well as a highlight reel in the player above. And before you judge me too harshly, I'm still new to this whole TV production thing, so please be kind.
