CHICAGO — Scientists say they've discovered a new dinosaur, and it looks very similar to a porcupine.
The dinosaur is being called the "pego-mastax africanus" which means thick jaw from Africa. Researchers at the University of Chicago say that the animal was less than two feet long and weighed less than a cat.
Researcher Paul Serano says that the dinosaur would have looked something like a "two-legged porcupine." It took scientists 50 years to recognize this newest species of dinosaur, partly because of the close porcupine resemblance.
While Serano is the first to describe the species, it was actually first excavated in the 1960s.
Scientists say the dinosaur lived about 200 million years ago.
