SALT LAKE CITY -- A rollover accident on I-215 sent two passengers in an airport transport van to the hospital in critical condition.
Officials say it doesn't look like seatbelts were available in rear of the van for passengers. Two people were thrown from the vehicle. The third passenger in the van was also taken to the hospital for precautionary measures and the driver received some lascerations to his head. All are expected to be OK.
The ramp between I-215 northbound and I-80 had to shut down while investigators figured out what was going on.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Nigbur said, "From what we know right now, the two people who were ejected while the vehicle rolled were taken, one by lifeflight, to a local hospital, and one by ground to a local hospital."
Highway Patrol officers are still looking into what caused the van carrying four people to roll.
