Real Salt Lake hadn't seen points in any competition for nearly four weeks prior to this week, but the club changed that statistic by adding points to the book twice in the past four days.

They are points that were definitely welcomed by the club with the end of the Major League Soccer regular season inching closer and the Champions League trophy in its sights.

The club finished the week with one win and one draw on two different stages, Champions League and Major League Soccer competition, respectively.

The week began with Real Salt Lake returning to Champions League play on Tuesday as it hosted international opponent Tauro FC, taking a 2-0 win and getting back into CONCACAF action.

And it was a win that was long time welcomed for the Claret and Cobalt.

But unlike other weeks, RSL didn't have time to waste as it left for MLS competition less than 24 hours later.

Wednesday afternoon saw the team fly to Philadelphia to prepare for a Friday evening match with the Philadelphia Union.

The Salt Lake side left the east coast with a 0-0 draw and one point against the Union.

The Claret and Cobalt saw the return of defender Nat Borchers in Philadelphia, who was missing from the match roster the previous game against Tauro FC due to a previous red-card ejection.

Drawing with the Union completed the Salt Lake side's completion for the month of August.

RSL will start out September at Rio Tinto by hosting MLS opponent D.C. united before heading out on the road less than a week later to play at Houston.

September will also see RSL return to Champions League action as RSL will travel to Panama to face Tauro FC for the second time.
