Oh thank heaven for free Slurpees at 7-Eleven

Today is 7-Eleven's 85th Birthday, and they're giving out free Slurpees to celebrate.

Russ Neilson, the market manager of the 7-Eleven stores, thinks that today will be a popular day for Slurpee. "We estimate that we will give away 7 million Slurpees worldwide and around 200,000 across the Wasatch Front. There are already lines out the door in most locations I've visited today."

If you didn't think they used the numbers seven and eleven enough, they also are keeping to the numerical theme for the day by only giving away the 7.11 ounce cups. Not only that, but because of the partnership with Slurpee and Cinemark movie theaters, You can enjoy a free Slurpee at the movies tonight only between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Flavors of the month that Slurpee Lovers will find today, outside of the ever evolving flavors offered, are the lighter options Strawberry Banana and Lemon Cream, which contain about half the calories of regular Slurpees.

The 7-Eleven Stores are 85 years old, but the Slurpee Brand celebrates its 45th birthday today.

Twilight Concert Series 25th Anniversary

The Twilight Concert Series is one of the most popular concerts in all of Utah. This year they are bringing some true talent to entertain Pioneer Park for their 25th anniversary.

Every Thursday in July and August is a party with artists like Raphael Sadiq, Common, Passion Pit, Nas, and Joshua James, just to name a few.

Prior to this year, the concert was free, but now at only $5 a ticket, it is still well worth it considering the talent, which would cost much more to see them individually in other shows.

Tickets are for sale at any Graywhale locations, on www.24tix.com, as well as at the door. Doors open at 5 p.m.
