SALT LAKE CITY - Koliniasi Leota, a 6-4, 255-pound defensive end out of Mount San Antonio College who played his high school football at Granger High in West Valley City, Utah, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Utah. He is expected to enroll at the U. in spring semester and will be a junior with a redshirt year available.

A first-team all-SFCA defensive lineman, Leota totaled 41 tackles, including 13.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks, in 2011. He also intercepted two passes, broke up two passes, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble as a sophomore.

Mt. SAC won the 2010 national junior college championship and was the runner-up in 2011. Leota also played for two conference championship teams at Mt. SAC, which won the 2010 state title as well. He is married (Salote) with three children.
