SALT LAKE CITY—Kelvin York, a 5-11, 235-pound running back out of Fullerton College, signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Utah today. York, a native of Prairieville, La., plans to enroll at Utah in the spring semester and has two years of NCAA eligibility.

He was an all-conference player, the MVP of the 2010 Empire Bowl and the 2010 Key to the County game vs. Santa Ana College before missing most of the 2011 season due to injury. He rushed for 1,478 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2010, averaging 130.5 yards per game and 6.3 yards per carry.

Prior to junior college, York was all-state, all-district and Parish MVP for Dutchtown High School in Geismar, La. As a senior, he rushed for over 1,400 yards even while sharing time with Eddie Lacy, currently a sophomore at Alabama, where he is the Tide's second-leading rusher.
