SALT LAKE CITY -- What could very well be the most anticipated movie of 2012 has finally released its first full-length trailer.
"The Hunger Games" based off the New York Times best-seller is slated to hit theaters on March 23, 2012 and fans have been waiting to see what this violent action/romance would like on the big screen, now they have a taste.
The new trailer premiered Monday on ABC's Good Morning America, and it didn't take long for just about every media outlet to jump onto their computers and start writing pages and pages about a two and a half minute trailer.
The trailer gives the new comer a few tid bits to get them interested and pique their interest in the world-wide phenomenon. For those who have read the books, the trailer gave us a look at the capitol, Katniss' (Jennifer Lawrence) heart-breaking decision to enter the games and a quick peek at the 24-tributes entering the arena.
Rebecca Ford with The Hollywood Reporter gathered reactions from fans across the country and a great majority of them are positive.

"Can't stop watching ‘The Hunger Games' trailer. I'm just a few views away from making a shrieking & crying YouTube reaction video," Ford quoted one fan as saying.
Karren Valby of Entertainment Weekly thinks the trailer was epic and that it will get the hearts of both die-hard fans of the trilogy and skeptics of the whole genre to start racing.
"I don't care if you thumb your nose at YA (young adult) literature in general, if you don't know your Mockingjay from your President Snow... Surely even the most determined haters felt their pulse quicken in that final countdown, before 24 children of Panem set off to fight to the death in front of television cameras."
While the trailer is effective and manages to get your heart pumping, that's still only a small snippet of a much larger film, and that film is only one piece of a three piece puzzle.
"Seeing the Hunger Games contestants sprinting towards their weapons, it's hard not to feel some of the thrill of the original book," wrote The Wall Street Journal's Christopher John Farley. "And it's hard not to hope that the finished film fully delivers on its promise."
From my stand point, I believe the first movie will be great, much like the book was. The thing that worries me most are the impending sequels. With the books I felt let down and disappointed by "Catching Fire" and then totally frustrated by "Mockingjay." This is clearly just my opinion, and it is not fact, but I mention it because I want your input.
