HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah (AP) -- The 388th Fighter Wing is preparing a send-off for 129 veterans flying to Washington, D.C., on Friday to see the World War II memorial.
A Utah-based nonprofit group, Our Unsung Heroes, has raised the fund to send the veterans to see the monument erected in their honor.
Before the group flies from Hill Air Force Base they will be treated to a send off including fighter plane displays.
The 419th Fighter Wing will also participate in the send off.
The veterans are scheduled to visit the memorial on Saturday, which is Armed Forces Day.
