News Anchor

KSL 5's primary news anchor, Bruce Lindsay, has anchored weeknight editions of Eyewitness News continuously since 1978 when he returned to KSL from Los Angeles. He currently anchors the 5, 6, and 10pm newscasts.

Over the years he has carried additional responsibilities as a reporter, producer and news manager. For seven years leading up to Salt Lake's Olympics in 2002 Bruce led KSL's coverage of Olympic-related issues and reported from countries across the globe. For three decades, Eyewitness News has relied on him to anchor live coverage of elections, political conventions, debates, the annual Days of '47 / KSL Parade, natural disasters and other significant events.

Bruce's work has been recognized by many regional and national awards, including a coveted Emmy for his live reporting from the 1980 Democratic National Convention in New York City. He received the Iris Award from the National Association of Television Program Executives, a silver medal from the New York Film and Video Festival, various awards from the Utah Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Utah Broadcasters Association.

Bruce has been an adjunct member of the faculty of BYU's Department of Communications. He is the narrator of a number of popular audio books. He gives many hours of service each week in support of community, school and church endeavors.

Bruce received a degree in Communications from Brigham Young University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also received an MBA degree from the University of Utah.

Bruce and his wife, Shari, are the parents of four daughters and two sons.
