RENO, Nev. (AP) — The National Rifle Association is launching an ad against Hillary Clinton that invokes the attacks on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.
The group announced Wednesday that it bought $2 million in airtime in a handful of battleground states including Nevada. The commercial is set to run in the Reno market.
It features Mark "Oz" Geist, a retired Marine who co-authored the book "13 Hours" that gives an account of the 2012 attacks. He tells the camera he served in Benghazi and his friends didn't survive, so viewers need to do their part and vote.
The ad closes with the words "Trump 2016."
A congressional report released Tuesday accused the Obama administration of lethal mistakes in Benghazi but produced no new evidence pointing to wrongdoing by Clinton.
