MADISON, Wis. (AP) — There are primaries Aug. 12 to decide the Democratic nominees for governor and lieutenant governor. Incumbent Republican Gov. Scott Walker and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch are running unopposed.
Democratic candidates for governor:
NAME — Mary Burke
PARTY — Democratic
AGE — 55
RESIDES — Madison
EDUCATION — Bachelor's degree in business administration, Georgetown University, 1981; master's degree in business administration, Harvard University, 1985.
CAREER — Worked for Trek Bicycle Corp. from 1991 to 1993 and again from 1995 to 2004. State Commerce Department secretary from 2005 to 2007. Madison school board member since 2012.
PERSONAL — Single.

NAME — Brett Hulsey
PARTY — Democratic
AGE — 55
RESIDES — Madison
EDUCATION — Bachelor's degree in political economy, Middlebury College, 1982; master's degree in natural science, University of Oklahoma, 1988.
CAREER — Owns an environmental consulting business. Representative in the state Assembly from 2011-2014 after serving on the Dane County Board for 14 years. Previously worked 17 years for the Sierra Club.
PERSONAL — Single, two children.

EDUCATION — Bachelor's degree in history, Luther College, 1967; master's degree in education, Carthage College, 1979.
CAREER — Former high school history and economics teacher, Racine Unified School District. Member of the Racine City Council, 1988 to 2000. Member of Wisconsin state Assembly, 1996 to 2007. Member of Wisconsin state Senate, 2007 to 2010, re-elected in 2012.
PERSONAL — Married, three children.
