RENO, Nev. (AP) — Top Nevada Democrats have urged the party faithful to gear up for the November elections, saying voters will face a clear choice.

The theme of the party's state convention Saturday in Reno was "A Fair Shot for Everyone, Not Just the Wealthy."

State Democratic Chair Roberta Lange told delegates that the party will fight for an economy that works for everyone and Republicans will fight to protect a system rigged for billionaires such as the Koch brothers.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, in a video message, hailed what he called a strong slate of Democratic candidates.

Other speakers expressed support for legislation to raise the minimum wage and to extend federal unemployment insurance.

U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, in the keynote address, said Congress must work to restore the American dream.
