ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) — State police say DNA taken from an adhesive bandage left at the scene of a Vermont camp break-in two years ago has led to an arrest.

The bandage was found on the floor of the camp at Fairfield Pond, where a window had been smashed around Nov. 12, 2012. Police say about $700 worth of damage had been done to the camp. The items taken included batteries and copper off a water heater.

Police say the DNA identified 31-year-old Victor Velez of St. Albans. He was ordered to submit to mouth swabs to confirm the identification, and authorities say the DNA matched.

Velez was charged Wednesday with burglary. It isn't immediately clear whether he has a lawyer.
