MANSFIELD, Ohio — Sylvia Miller is 82, but this Ohio granny is not ready for the rocking chair.

She works out daily.

She seals and stains her own deck.

Sylvia does all the house maintenance including car upkeep, so it's no surprise last Wednesday Sylvia was at Walmart picking up grass seed and penetrating oil.

She noticed three women following her in the garden center then out to her car.

One snatched her purse from behind.

"I had just a little bit over $100 my son had just given me and all my credit cards," Miller said.

I wasn't afraid one bit. I didn't even think about it. I thought you're not getting away with it.

She gave chase and after a sprint through the parking lot, a nearby field, and a thorny brush patch the suspect gave in and surrendered Sylvia's purse.

"I wasn't afraid one bit. I didn't even think about it. I thought you're not getting away with it," Miller said.

It's not likely Sylvia set the suspect on the path of good behavior, but perhaps she'll think twice before picking on a woman 50 plus years her senior.

The suspects were not apprehended by police.

Sylvia is determined to see them behind bars before another elderly woman falls prey to the threesome.
