LAYTON — A coach is only as good as his players. Kyle Whittingham understands that recruiting is the lifeblood of his program and it never stops.

The search for elite talent is the reason Whittingham makes attending the All-Poly Camp a priority for him and his staff.

This last week the All-Poly camp took place at Ellison Park in Layton.

What started out to be a camp for Polynesian kids to get noticed has quickly become one of the best camps in football.

The Utah football program thinks it is so good and important that half their staff was there last week. Whittingham was there with defensive coordinator Kalani Sitake and offensive line coach Dan Finn. That was on Saturday, while their program and other coaches were holding a youth camp on campus.

There were two coaches from Stanford, and the Utes had three. Utah State head coach Matt Wells was there with some of his staff. Jody Sears from Weber State and his staff were there, as was basically the entire staff from Southern Utah. Wisconsin's Gary Andersen was at the camp earlier in the week, as was BYU.

This camp is no longer a secret.

The opportunity was given to the Utes head coach to address the kids and we were lucky enough to be there to catch the entire thing.
