SALT LAKE CITY — After suffering one of the worst losses in Huntsman Center history, the Utah basketball team bounced back with a lot of running Tuesday afternoon.

The team ran. And ran. And ran some more.

Run with Dick and Jane?

More like running with Dakarai Tucker and Glen Dean.

Just watching them continue to run five court lengths, time and time again, started to make me tired.

"We got after it," Utah guard Brandon Taylor said. "We might have made some mistakes, but best believe everything we did today, it was 100 percent. Every single player on this team went 100 percent hard."

"We have to try a different approach," forward Jason Washburn said. "We have to work through it. We have to play our style of basketball. (The Pac-12) is a competitive conference, and no team is just going to let us have it. Teams may underestimate us, but they are still not going to let us come in here and have it."

"This league is tough," head coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "There are no easy nights. We have to come out like we are playing a top 20 team night in and night out."

Despite the tough loss and falling to 1-7 in conference play, Taylor said the team is sticking together through it all.

"We just stuck together," Taylor said. "We depended on each other. Practices like these bring us closer together. When we are fatigued and tired, everyone depends on each other. And when everyone depends on each other, that's when we are at our strongest point."

Utah is without center Dallin Bachynski, who after a meeting with Krystkowiak, decided to step away from the game of basketball for the time being. It is not certain when or if he will rejoin the team.

Utah faces Colorado on Saturday at the Huntsman Center. The Utes will be honoring former head coach Rick Majerus at halftime by retiring his sweater in the rafters.
