This is Lane Beattie of the Salt Lake Chamber with your Utah Business Report.

The Sandy City Council has named Gold Cross Ambulance as Sandy City's 2014 Business Partner of the Year. The recognition distinguishes the ambulance company for exceeding the expectation of services on behalf of the citizens of Sandy City, Utah.

Since October 2008, Gold Cross Ambulance has served as a partner with the Sandy City Fire Department and bases its ambulance units out of Fire Station 31.

Gold Cross was recognized as a critical part of the city's operational structure providing EMS support on many different levels, including structure fires, back up for medical crews when responding to other calls, and serving inter-facility calls, and the less critical or Alpha EMS calls. This backup service by Gold Cross allows the fire department to remain in place and available to respond to more critical emergencies.

Gold Cross works closely with local, state, and federal agencies to assure quality care and access to emergency services for all citizens of Utah. Congratulations on this honor!
