This is Marty Carpenter of the Salt Lake Chamber with your Utah Business Report.

On Saturday, Salt Lake Chamber president and CEO Lane Beattie will be honored with the Breath of Life Award at the Taste of Utah 15th Annual Gala. The Gala will take place at the Grand America Hotel, starting at 6 p.m.

The award is presented to a caring, selfless person who is driven by a desire to improve the community and the lives of others. The Breath of Life Award is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's highest honor.

For more than two decades, Beattie has brought people together, strengthened our community, and developed a better, more prosperous Utah.

This year, the Taste of Utah gala will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event features the best dining of Utah along with an auction—and all of it is donated. The goal is to raise money to help support important medical research to combat cystic fibrosis.
