This is Marty Carpenter in for Lane Beattie of the Salt Lake Chamber with your Utah Business Report.

Salespeople, pack your bags for that international trade show you've been eying. Utah small businesses that act quickly may apply for matching grants to offset expenses related to exhibiting at international events.

The U.S. Small Business Administration and the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development are offering funds through the State Trade and Export Promotion (or STEP) program. STEP awards are for up to just over 22-hundred dollars and require a 25 percent cash match by the recipient up to 750-dollars.

The grant can help cover airfare, trade show exhibitor fees and more.

The application deadline is four weeks prior to the international trade show you wish to attend as long as the event is before September 30th.

Exporting your product may be easier than you thought. For more information, visit the Salt Lake Chamber blog at slchamber.com. That's slchamber.com
