This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Utah has a culture of innovation known throughout the United States. It's one reason Utah has cities with two of the highest dollar per deal averages in 2014, Provo-Orem with $51.3 million and Salt lake City-Ogden with $17.2 million, according to Inc. Magazine. A Utah native, Greg Sueoka is working to protect these important technological and business breakthroughs with his law firm, Patent Law Works where they're focused on helping companies protect their intellectual property by providing highly technical and innovative patents.

Patent Law Works is known as the premier firm in technology. They know how technology works and how to create the best deals. Their client base includes startups, advanced R&D labs and tech titans in Silicon Valley. The mixture of clients gives them a deep experience that is hard to replicate.

Patent Law Works employs 30 people between California and Utah, with Silicon Valley as the sales office and Utah as the operational center. Diversity differentiates Patent Law Works and they're proud of the inclusion policies. Being committed to diversity is somewhat unique, giving them different viewpoints and varying levels of expertise.

Greg loves being involved with startups because they're excited and passionate about an idea, so they do whatever it takes to make it real. With the Patent Law Works team on board assisting them with their venture energy and hope, the dream can become real. Usually, they will take up to 20 startup clients per year, and geography doesn't matter with the firm's focus on technology, so they take clients across the U.S. The majority of their business comes from referrals.

At Patent Law Works, Greg says they're building a world-class technology institution in terms of law services, knowledge and business skills. They have earned an impressive reputation among their clients and peers.
