This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The use of mobile devices for purchases and general web browsing has been on the rise for years. And data from comScore expands upon that even more, showing that on smartphones 82 percent of mobile media time is via apps. Ethan Anderson saw this trend and decided to leverage it for his company, MyTime, a website and mobile app used to book all types of appointments.

MyTime developed an algorithm that will pull up information on who the best service providers are, from health and beauty to auto service, based on your location, and then present open appointments. Ethan says what they've done is build a single online destination to book appointments with almost any business in America. Results are presented in a ranked fashion, starting with the best of the best, according to customer feedback, your location, if instant booking is available or if there's any specials.

For consumers, it's a one-stop shop that keeps track of your appointments and will even prompt you to rebook. There's also a favorites page to keep track of top service providers and make booking online at mytime.com or through the app a snap.

To fulfill their vision, MyTime has 85 employees around the country and a few internationally to assist with engineering the app. They help service providers build profiles, to give it the right look and feel, and so it's ready for clients to use in booking appointments. Plus, there's a concierge team to help book appointments for consumers when the business is not yet calendar connected to MyTime. They'll even call the business and book the appointment on the consumer's behalf.

MyTime is a high-touch business from San Francisco that has now opened a sales and service center in Salt Lake City. The goal is to become a verb for booking regular services people need to take care of.

Speaking on Business is now on video. Check out the video edition of our radio program on the Zions Direct TV YouTube Channel. That's Zions Direct TV.
