This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Maggie Wilderotter (will-der-rotter), Chairman and CEO of Frontier Communications, will make her official visit to Utah to speak with her new employees, local customers and community leaders this week.

Frontier Communications opened doors to its Provo Contact Center earlier this year in Utah, one of the 27 states where it operates. Since entering the local market, the contact center has added nearly 400 jobs to the local community on its way to differentiating its brand among strong competition. The grand opening celebration will be held this Thursday, Aug. 7.

Becky Potts, chief customer officer, who is over the Provo operation, says when it comes to communications products, Frontier offers it all, from broadband, voice, satellite video, wireless Internet data access to data security solutions. Not only does Frontier specialize in bundles for residential customers, but it also provides advanced communications for small businesses, home offices and larger businesses. It gives customers the unique experience of two-hour appointment windows, 24/7 live tech support and a 100 percent U.S.-based workforce. As Frontier says, they offer "big-company advantages but provide a small-company feel." Check them out at frontier.com.

Their niche is serving rural areas. They can also serve urban areas, but rural is their specialty and main area of growth. In Utah they're licensed to sell services in Tremonton, Delta and Moab, but the Contact Center will be serving customers from around the U.S. The Provo facility will provide an Internet help desk, as well as credit, collections, sales and service.

These fine products and customer first business mentality bring potential for future community growth and development. Becky says Frontier Communications is designed to allow employees to grow and advance within the company. The company underwent its own maturity and expansion phase over the course of the last 80 years since it began as a local telephone company. After recently acquiring substantial lines from Verizon, this Fortune 500 Company continues its expansion with the upcoming acquisition of AT&T wireline operations. It now looks forward to a long, promising relationship with the Utah community.
