This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The Northfront Business Resource Center in Kaysville connects Northern Utah business owners and entrepreneurs with public, private and academic resources. Director Terry Keyes says everything in the center is free. It's designed to support and advise entrepreneurs.

The main focus at the Northfront Business Resource Center is to help businesses realize their dream, starting by walking through the idea to help determine if it's a true opportunity and then how to develop it. For example, one client renovated a UHAUL truck and is now a traveling cobbler, where he'll park in front of business for a couple hours and can fix your shoe right on site. Just another example of why the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has ranked Utah as the 4th overall for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

One of their popular programs is the free lunch and learn series, where entrepreneurs can come in and have a 90-minute presentation on topics related to business. This includes things topics how to create an app for your business or how to put a loan package together. They cost only $15 per lunch so they're affordable.

The Northfront Business Resource Center will also put packages together for the Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund and Grow Utah Ventures and has other important business connections. There's also the Entrepreneur Launch Pad that gets together every week to talk about issues related to new business startups like patent and trademark questions, lending, better branding or even how to define who your client is. It's supporting Davis County which is averaging 3 percent job growth and is the third highest county in the state for wages with a median income of just under $70,000.

The Northfront Business Resource Center understands there's nothing like having your passion around an idea be rewarded by starting and operating a successful business. And it's essential to get support from people who are dedicated to pointing you in the right direction.

When it's all said and done, the Northfront Business Resource Center wants to advance your ideas, offer education, connections and sound business advice.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
