This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Ted Broman can count himself among the number of working adults who experience a major career change. At that time he went from building caskets to running a thriving supply chain management company, IntegraCore.

In 2005, Ted was invited to come on board to run IntegraCore, based in West Jordan. He bought it a few years after getting involved, and the company has grown to over one hundred times its original size. They went from 20 employees to just under 1,000 employees in Utah alone and a couple hundred more in Atlanta. In fact, Utah Business recently ranked IntegraCore as the 33rd largest company in Utah for number of employees on board.

In the Salt Lake City facility IntegraCore is processing about 50,000 orders per day, using an automated system. These could be as small as one bottle of pills or as big as three truckloads of goods for some of the largest retail distribution centers in the United States. Many companies house their goods with IntegraCore to streamline the warehouse fulfillment process. That's why their warehouse is the size of 11 football fields and why they're serving major players like American Crafts, LifeVantage, DoTerra and Xango.

Ted says that this business is one where trust is key. That's because the IntegraCore crew are often the last to touch a product before it reaches the customer. So, if there's a problem, Ted's team has to catch it and fix the issue before it's sent. That way, the end consumer experience is protected. This applies to millions of dollars in inventory they're holding, which turns over every few weeks.

Ted feels responsibility for every order, because each is important to somebody. Ted and his team have a zero tolerance for mistakes policy, which is important because with kitting, they assemble the requested order. They have strategic systems to support their zero-tolerance mission.

Ted had enough vision to bring in people to fill roles he knew he needed at IntegraCore. He says he's always hiring, and their employment base remains steady.
