This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The transition from employee to owner can be a steep one. But, Amy Bennett of Amy Boutique in Holladay wasn't about to shy away from the challenge. She opened her boutique just a couple of months ago and says excitement for her business has been high ever since. It helps that Utah has been named as one of the states most friendly to small business, according to eWeek.

Amy Boutique carries a little bit of everything. It's a gift and clothing store with a wide selection of products. It's designed to be a one-stop for everything like gifts for the home, holiday décor, bath and body, baby, wedding, jewelry, clothing or even shoes. Customers comment all the time about how much they love the eclectic product mix.

Amy has always loved shopping and at one time became a professional shopper as the buyer for another retailer. She learned about product selection and display, which lead her to transition into opening a home-based boutique for several years. It grew every year until she realized it was time to find a brick and mortar location. This galvanized her into opening Amy Boutique in the brand new Holladay Village Plaza.

She carries Bethany Lowe, with beautiful décor pieces for all times of the year but especially Halloween and Christmas. You'll also find clothing lines from names like Tulip and Johnny Was (wass), Pete and Greta and many others. Amy goes to L.A. six times a year to bring back the best for her customers. She also carries candy and soft drinks at her soda fountain.

Her vision for Amy Boutique is to host sales and open houses a few times each year, around holidays since the décor is so popular in Utah. Amy Boutique is spreading through word of mouth, but Amy is also developing her social presence with Instagram, Facebook and her brand new website, amyboutiqueutah.com.

As a community-focused organization, Zions Bank has been providing value to the communities in which we live and serve for over 140 years. Member FDIC.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
