When most people thought of real estate just a few years ago, the inclination was to run the other way. But not Kevin Kilpatrick. He not only stayed in the industry but also opened Exit Realty Success in West Jordan three and a half years ago. And his dedication paid off: business is phenomenal right now.
Kevin says his West Jordan location, at 1231 W. 90th South, has enjoyed 23 months of increasing prices in the market, which benefits Exit Realty Success and his team of agents. The focus at Exit is on residential but they do some commercial, with agents along the Wasatch Front from Ogden to Utah County. The hot-ticket item right now is anything under $200,000 which goes really fast. For Salt Lake County it's slightly higher at $250,000 and under, but the market is strong.
An important part of Exit Realty Success's success is bringing in great talent. Kevin feels fortunate to have developed a strong team of independent agents in who have done extremely well. One reason for this is because they're trained to provide the best service to the customers. It's a challenge, but he feels he has attracted and retained a great team. He has 37 independent agents in all.
One reason Kevin partnered with Exit Realty was because of the leadership. The franchisor, which is headquartered in Toronto, Canada, has strong leaders Kevin wanted to be involved with. The other part of why he chose Exit Realty Success is because it offers a better payment system for agents called single-level residual, where agents can benefit from company growth. In the real estate industry, you get paid to sell houses. However, with Exit agents, there's an additional source of income, which helps provide more stability to their overall income. This attracts stable and career-minded agents to the company.
At Exit Realty Success, the additional income stream attracts people for the long-term and provides them retirement benefits, which can also be unusual in this industry.
