It ‘s one of the most popular items Sherrell (shuh-rell) Nokes and Nancy Murray are offering in their South Jordan business Pokka Dott Boutique in The District.
This is a combination boutique and bakery offering everything from furniture and baby items to unique gifts, jewelry and a selection you won't find anywhere else. And if you smell something good as you walk in … it's probably one of their delicious baked goods at the in-store bakery, known as Rollin' in the Dough. The selection includes homemade jams, cinnamon rolls, orange rolls, breads, "Nana" rolls, and sugar cookies... You can pick up a dozen to share with your family or friends or pre-order for a slight price break.
Once a month Sherrell and Nancy host ladies night at Pokka Dott Boutique. Even in the short time they've been open, it's already become so popular the event fills up quickly. They do drawings, offer free photos, baked goods and provide an atmosphere where their customers can interact and have a great time. The next ladies night will be held on September 14. You should reserve your spot early because they expect to sell out. And in October … it'll be "Ghouls" Night Out. Be sure to check it out at the store, 11534 S. District Main in South Jordan.
Pokka Dott Boutique is also available for book clubs, business meetings, reunions, bridal showers, wedding receptions, birthday parties and many other events. Watch for information on their upcoming trunk show with the Red Headed Vintage Girl, creator of original vintage jewelry, sometime next month.
Sherell says people frequently come into Pokka Dott Boutique after they've had a bad day and leave smiling and feeling better.... One lady came into the store stressed and after having a drink and roll, she said it turned her entire day around. She's now one of their best customers.
