This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Fresh produce in the middle of a brutal Utah winter... Or maybe you love the taste of Pacific Northwest salmon... But —there's usually not local fruit available in winter or fresh salmon in a landlocked state. So...it's likely the trucking industry played a large role in bringing these and many other products to you... Supporting this industry is the objective for John Rokus (roh-cuss), president of Precision Diesel and Performance in West Haven.

John is proud to service Class A medium and heavy-duty trucks .... Their specialty is farmers, excavators and contractors, and other clients in the local market. The trucking industry dominates the commercial transportation industry with almost 84 percent of the revenue, according to Business Insider.... It's also expected to grow 21 percent in the next 10 years.... Keeping these trucks and other large diesel vehicles running is the focus for Precision Diesel and Performance ....

This market has some pretty stiff competition. However, John and his business partner, Chad Williamson, are setting themselves apart by offering only the highest level of service.... They're basing their model on their own personal experiences with some of their competitors... They discovered that some customers were being treated poorly and felt they deserved better, so they came up with their model for Precision Diesel and Performance.

They feel like they're raising the bar for trucking service, where competitors will need to come to their level .... In their first nine months of operation with 720 repair orders, John and Chad haven't had one disappointed customer, so their level of service speaks for itself. Plus, they're selective in who they've chosen to work for them and want the best of the best in their six employees. This includes John's wife, Heather, whom he says does the work of two or three people, and he can't imagine running the company without her.

While they're targeting farmers, excavators and contractors , they dabble in a bit of everything diesel related..... Their core market remains the medium and heavy-duty trucks that deliver what Utahns need every day...

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
