This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The Affordable Care Act, set to take effect October 1, is stirring up uncertainty for business owners who are not sure about all the regulations and deadlines. .... Staying in compliance with this new law may seem overwhelming, especially for small business owners caught up in the day-to-day operations of their company....Now, more than ever, it's crucial for businesses to get the information they need to make a smooth transition that won't financially cripple their business.

That's why small business owners and managers should be sure not to miss the second annual Utah Small Business Summit on September 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City...The conference will feature informative keynote speakers, breakout sessions and an exhibitor gallery filled with organizations and businesses that serve small businesses ... You can expect to see topics like branding, sales, marketing, international business and customer service.

What is of great interest is the strong focus on health care and what your business can do to prepare for the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.... Additional health care reforms begin October 1, and this year's summit will provide you with tools and knowledge to navigate the transition.

Not to mention, Utah is ranked as the No. 1 Pro-Business State and is labeled the "brightest star" on the American Flag from the Wall Street Journal. With a corporate tax rate that has remained unchanged for 15 years, running a business in Utah makes perfect sense.

If health care reform is a concern for you, make sure you come to the Utah Small Business Summit. For more information or to register, visit slchamber.com.
