In just 10 years, the company has grown to 85 trucks and close to 100 employees.... They haul fresh water, drilling supplies, fracking fluids and dirt..... They can move rigs and waste trucks, almost anything locally, except crude oil...
Before starting his company, Matt was working as a diesel mechanic for an oil company that had water trucks and took care of their own production..... After a while the company was split in half, so everything changed...At that point, he made a decision... Matt cashed in his 401k to buy 1984 Western Star for $22,000 and went to work hauling water..... He bought more trucks as his customer base grew, hired people, and that's how Matt Betts Trucking Service started.....
For him it was simply a shot in the dark — and in the beginning it was just Matt doing everything.....It took several years before his business caught on and took off, and even though his friends all thought Matt was crazy, he's the one laughing now...
He attributes much of his success at Matt Betts Trucking Service to a really great staff.... Matt also believes in taking care of that staff by offering benefits that he says are better than most....He also works to develop one on one and personal relationships with his team and goes out of the way to help people feel appreciated, wanted and needed.
