The Historic 25th Street District in Ogden is a unique and eclectic location. Not only is it a great place to eat, shop and stroll but it also features a wide variety of businesses and industries. Ogden City continues to encourage restoration and preservation of the district. Right at the heart stands a hotel that has been restored to its historic glory — the 13-story Ben Lomond Suites.

Built in 1927, the Ben Lomond Suites was designed to be Ogden's first fireproof hotel, complete with many luxuries. It was a gem of the Ogden community but later fell into disrepair. In 1985, it was branded by Radisson Hotels, which completed a major renovation to update the building systems and convert the 350 original guest rooms into 122 guest suites.

The hotel's current owners acquired the Ben Lomond in June 2009. Over the last year, the owners have made significant investment in the restoration of the historic elements of the hotel and the renovation of the guest rooms, conference and event spaces and common areas. Managing owner Bill Gavan and his daughter, Anna, who manages the property, say the Ben Lomond Suites now boasts 97 suites and condos that all come with large sitting rooms, bed chambers, fully equipped kitchenettes, free Wi-Fi and a complimentary hot breakfast buffet. Suites come in a variety of sizes from traditional double queens to two bedroom, two bathroom units.

The hotel also has great event spaces, including the Crystal Ballroom with capacity for 300 people. This grand ballroom can be used for weddings and receptions, quincineras, award ceremonies or high school reunions. There are also several conference spaces available for business meetings and a catering service on site to address catering needs for any events at Ben Lomond Suites.

Ben and Anna hope to see the Ben Lomond Suites quickly return to one of Northern Utah's top hospitality venues with a reputation for historic elegance, luxury and quality service.
