CEDAR CITY — Megan Bean scored 14 points as Richfield won their 21st straight game to claim the 2A girls state championship 41-27 over Emery.

Last season Richfield was seen as the favorite to win the 2A championship but they were upset in the quarterfinals by North Summit. They were determined not to let that happen again.

The Wildcats won the 3A state championship in 2010 and the 2A title in 2009 when they compiled a 32 game win streak. They have now won four girls state basketball championships.

Emery was led in scoring by Shelby Allred who scored 8 points.

It was Richfield's third victory over Emery this season.
