Jimmer Fredette scored 24 points while Jonathan Tavernari added 18 as BYU outlasted the Trinity Western Spartans 74-56 in front of 7,533 fans at the Marriott Center Thursday night in an exhibition game heard on ksl.com.

Fredette and Tavernari combined to hit 17 of 30 shots from the floor, while the rest of the Cougars combined to go 12 for 44, on a night BYU shot 39.2% from the field as a team. Trinity Western was paced by Jacob Doerksen's 28 points.
