The BYU Cougars went indoors on Monday afternoon for the second of two practices on Day 10 of fall camp. Bronco Mendenhall seemed pleased with the effort that his players gave him in both practices today.

"Got a ton of work done and some situational work", Bronco said. "I've been impressed with their day-to-day effort and their willingness to work."

While the injury bug has hit several players, quite a few injured Cougars made their way back to the practice field today. Marcus Mathews, Romney Fuga, Houston Reynolds and Braden Brown all returned to action today.

Place kicker Justin Sorensen was once again not able to participate in practice. Coach Mendenhall said there was nothing new to report and as far as he's concerned, he's still expecting Justin to be ready for the the opener against Washington State.

Wide receiver Mitch Mathews sat out the afternoon practice. Bronco said it may have been related to his shoulder, but that he would have been notified if it were severe.

Speaking of Mitch Mathews; Bronco said he was leaning toward Mathews being the team's fourth receiver.

In response to being asked which key positions still had battles going on for playing time, Bronco said, "anxious to see tight end-wise, the health of Austin (Holt) and Richard (Wilson). We have some running back decisions to make, not who plays, just continue to define how they'll be used. Depth at receiver, not the first four receivers but maybe five-six-seven, there's kind of a pack there were looking to get some separation from."
