After fielding five team captains in 2009, BYU will bring only two players into the pre-game coin toss this season. OL Matt Reynolds and safety Andrew Rich have been selected as 2010 team captains.

Said head coach Bronco Mendenhall: "Andrew and Matt are both fantastic representatives of our program and outstanding football players; both have demonstrated they are capable of leading our team on and off the field."

As noted above, redshirt freshman DE Thomas Bryson has been suspended for the season opener due to a team rules violation.

The Cougars held a closed practice this afternoon, and will hold closed practices on Friday and Saturday mornings before taking Sunday off. There will be morning media availabilities on each of the next two days.

Bronco Mendenhall's first weekly press conference is scheduled for Monday morning at Legends' Grille in the BYU Student Athlete Building.

As in years past, the press conference audio will be posted on "Cougar Tracks" immediately after the conclusion of Mendenhall's remarks. Interviews with BYU players will also be posted.
