SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz needed to make roster moves to get down to 15 players for the regular season and did it while adding a familiar face.

Jamaal Tinsley has been brought back into the Jazz fold as he signs a deal with the club he was with over the last two years. Tinsley will be relied on while Trey Burke recovers from injury to hold down the point guard position.

Tinsley was out of the NBA, playing in the D-League, and the Jazz gave him a shot to play. Over the last two years he has 33 starts, playing in 103 games, at the revolving point guard position. He was originally drafted by the Vancouver Grizzlies in 2001 with the 27th pick.

The Jazz had to make cuts going into the regular season as well. They cut five players to get down to 15. Those who were cut are: Dominic McGuire, Brian Cook, Scott Machado, Lester Hudson and Justin Holiday.

Hudson seemed like a lock to make the team as the other point guard until the Jazz brought Tinsley back. The lone training camp invitee to make the roster was Mike Harris, a 6'6" forward out of Rice.
