Ogden Raptors propose park expansion
January 4th, 2007 @ 3:27pm

OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- The Ogden Raptors are a hot ticket.

The team is proposing a $3 million expansion at Lindquist Field that would raise the number of seats to as many as 6,500.

The Raptors play in the Pioneer League and are affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers. They averaged more than 3,500 fans last season.

City planners recommended approval Wednesday and sent the plan to Mayor Matthew Godfrey. The team and city would share the cost of the project.

Bleachers along the foul lines would be replaced with 2,400 chairs. A standing-room-only deck would be built in left field. Some work could be done in time for the home opener June 16, president Dave Baggott said.
